Bio

Born in Montreal, Adrian earned her Fine Art degree in Toronto. She has been painting and exhibiting her work since 1980, as well as producing commissioned portraits, murals and public art pieces. She has also delivered guest lectures and conducted art classes & workshops for over 25 years.

Adrian’s paintings have been featured in several solo exhibitions, as well as in multiple juried shows both nationally & internationally. Her current work explores our physical and emotional bond with nature, and the effect of human activity on the environment.  Working in oil, acrylic & mixed media on canvas, in studio or on site, Adrian often incorporates earth elements into her work, literally, by mixing ground rock & shell into the medium to enhance colour and texture.

In the past few years, Adrian she has received several government commissions to create public art installations in Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec. Other career highlights include being selected as artist-in-residence by the Bermuda Masterworks Museum (2009); being a finalist in the Kingston Prize for Contemporary Canadian Portraiture (2005 & 2007); and receiving a commission to paint a portrait of Prime Minister Trudeau (1984).

Adrian’s work has been reviewed in numerous publications, on CBC radio and on CTV. Her paintings have been featured on the covers of several international magazines. Adrian's work can be found in hundreds of public and private collections across Canada, the USA, and abroad.
